What defines this as a junior role?
As a Junior Field Service Engineer, you are at the start of your career. You have a maximum of two years of work experience or have recently graduated with a vocational technical degree (MBO 4). In this role, you will work closely with experienced colleagues and learn the trade through hands-on practice. You will support service, maintenance, and commissioning activities, gradually growing towards greater independence.
We provide expert on-site guidance and offer additional training and certifications where needed. This ensures you develop into an independent Field Service Engineer who is confident and capable in the field.

What will you be doing?
As a Junior Field Service Engineer at TRIBE, you will work alongside experienced colleagues to service, maintain, and provide technical support for industrial machinery and installations. You will perform activities at client locations and learn how to ensure systems remain reliable and operate without malfunctions.
You will primarily be active in the execution phase, supporting the resolution of technical malfunctions and performing service and commissioning activities. Step by step, you will grow toward greater independence in the field.
Other key activities involve:
- Assisting with service, maintenance, and pre-commissioning activities;
- Assisting with the configuration and optimization of components;
- Assisting with troubleshooting and resolving technical malfunctions;
- Installing and optimizing control systems under supervision;
- Testing I/O and control system functions;
- Assisting with the commissioning and testing of machinery and installations;
- Identifying and reporting technical deviations;
- Drafting service and work reports;
- And of course, being a source of entertainment for your colleagues.
What do you need for this role?
For this position, we are looking for someone with technical insight and a healthy dose of guts. Whether you have two right hands or, as a lefty, two left hands, it doesn’t matter to us. What counts is that you know what you’re doing. You have at least a vocational degree (MBO 4) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Marine Officer, or a similar field. Engineering is in your DNA; that much is clear.
You hold a valid category B driver’s license and work in a safe and responsible manner. You already possess certifications such as VCA VOL and NEN 3140 VP, or you are willing to obtain them through us. Experience with NEN 3840 VP is considered a distinct advantage.
Additionally, you are someone who works independently, thinks in terms of solutions, and takes ownership of your work. You communicate clearly with colleagues and clients and know exactly what is needed to get the job done right. You can be serious when the situation demands it, but you never lose your sense of humor. To us, that last part is just as important as your technical skills.

The TRIBE office is located in Houten, but we work on projects throughout the Netherlands and across the globe. We always plan these projects together with you, ensuring that travel time is minimized so you can fully enjoy your work, friends, family, and hobbies. Balance is key.
